Learn about our journey to BHKA
Our journey began several years ago when we were simply helping our son and daughter-in-law look for quality childcare for our grandson. What we thought would be easy, turned out to be the complete opposite.
After more tours than we could count, and attending two different centers (each for a year), we realized that our community was lacking in quality childcare. The slightest stray from a teacher's “routine” schedule was not allowed or welcomed, and our grandson, like so many others, is not a one-size fits all kiddo, so that mindset just didn’t work for us.
We had the same problems when our daughters were little and ended up going through three different centers in three years. So ultimately, we decided to solve our problem, and hopefully others as well.
We opened Blue Haven Kids Academy (BHKA) in hopes that we will not only meet but EXCEED the expectations of parents and precious children we serve. Our goal is to provide loving, healthy, educational, flexible, and competent childcare, with a focus on what matters most: keeping children SAFE.
How did we choose
our name?
The name Blue Haven was chosen with our families purpose and heart in mind.

Blue represents so much of what we believe children need to grow and thrive: freedom to explore, space to imagine, inspiration to learn, and a sense of trust, confidence, and calm.
Haven means a place of safety, and that’s exactly what we strive to be—a secure, nurturing environment where every child feels protected, supported, and valued.
Together, Blue Haven reflects our promise to provide a safe and inspiring place for kids to learn, play, and become their best selves.
